Consultation on Enhancing OpenAccess in Indian Agriculture

From September 6-7 ICRISAT in Hyderabad hosted a workshop on OpenAccess publishing in Indian Agriculture. I was invited as a speaker. My presentation is attached. There are many open Archives in India, but no up to now in Agricultural research.

The consultation discussed the various reasons for this situation and decided to go ahead with at least 3 pilots: one at NARMS in Hyderabad and another at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in Delhi, both as Institutional Repositories. To give the possibility of Open Archive publishing also to other researchers, AgroPedia Indica will function at the moment as a national repository for Indian Agricultural Research.
A broad discussion took place about copy right issues. Many participants were requesting guidance and guidelines from FAO in this area.
