From 1996 to 1999 I worked for the PIC secretariat (now Rotterdam Convention). I authored and edited various Decision Guidance Documents about Toxicity and Exotoxicity of Organophosphorous pesticides.
I worked directly on Decision Guidance Documents (DGDs) for these five pesticides: methamidophos, methyl-parathion, monocrotophos, parathion and phosphamidon. The specific formulations of these pesticides may not necessarily be banned or severely restricted in any country, but have been included because of potential problems under conditions of use in developing countries. The pesticides concerned are all classified by WHO as extremely or highly hazardous, based on the concentration of the active ingredient and the formulations concerned.
