Since August 2000 Johannes Keizer is working for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN . He is heading an information and knowledge management group of 20 professionalss. The main responsibilities of his group are:

Knowledge exchange infrastructures in international Agricultural Science and Technology
Documentation of FAOs technical knowledge production, maintaining the FAO openArchive
FAO Open Archive Services for Agricultural Science and Technogloy
Maintenance and Promotion of Global Standards in Agricultural Information and Knowledge Management (Agricultural Ontology Service)
Cutting Edge Applications using Semantic Technologies
Lead FAOs participation in Research Projects of the European Commission (FP6/FP7)

1983-1989: Studies of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biology at the "Technische Hochschule Hannover", "Veterinaermedizinische Hochschule Hannover" and "Medizinische Hochschule Hannover". Johannes Keizer was awarded the degree of "Diplombiochemiker" with majors in biophysics, biochemistry and zoology. He was promoted PhD (Dr. rer. nat) at the University of Mainz with a thesis on biochemical differences in the metabolism of pesticides (1992).

	I was born in 1955 and grew up in the cosy lower saxony town of Osnabrueck. After a (too long but very educational) involvement in the post 68 political movements, I studied Biochemistry in Hannover from 83 to 89. In 89 I emigrated to Italy, where I started finally a professional career.
