1983-1989: Studies of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biology at the "Technische Hochschule Hannover", "Veterinaermedizinische Hochschule Hannover" and "Medizinische Hochschule Hannover". Johannes Keizer was awarded the degree of "Diplombiochemiker" with majors in biophysics, biochemistry and zoology. He was promoted PhD (Dr. rer. nat) at the University of Mainz with a thesis on biochemical differences in the metabolism of pesticides (1992).
